Changes are constantly being made to social media sites. Each site has to keep up and stand its ground amongst the new and innovative sites rising up. Three years ago no one new what Instagram was or what it was truly capable of achieving. Fast forward, it is owned by Facebook and it’s number of users continue to steadily grow. Knowing what a content strategy is and successfully cater it toward your business is extremely complicating. It takes a lot of thought and effort to create a smart strategy to keep up with the competition. Above should be a burger, I came across this as I was searching for a “social media” image. Although a lot more needs to be broken down on a case by case basis this burger provided a simple explanation of a social media content strategy.
The bun, being the digital channels that provide the platform for the content strategy which holds it all together.
The cameras and green sheets, are the mix of content condiments that add flavor and variety to the strategy.
The red bubble box, the sauce, the flavor and personality of the content depends on things such as culturee and industry.
The “I’s”, all the information that consumes your audience.
Lastly, the people, the meat, the main reason you wanted a burger anyway! It is important to invest time to understand the information needs of your audience as well as who your audience is.
With that being said, it is vital to come up wit a strategy of how and when you release your content and in which platforms. Having a consistent timeline and engaging with customers over social media will help businesses learn more about their customers and their needs and ultimately allow the business to be more proactive.
